When Core Keeper first launched on Steam in 2022, it quickly struck a chord, reaching over a million players in just three months. From the start, our plan was to bring the game to console with its 1.0 release. As an indie publisher, the challenge was clear: how do you reach console players at scale in a crowded market?

That’s where our partnership with Microsoft came in. Bringing Core Keeper to Game Pass introduced the game to millions worldwide. More than 680,000 unique accounts played during its run, players who might never have taken a chance on the game otherwise. For us, that number represents more than just data; it’s hundreds of thousands of new adventurers discovering Core Keeper risk-free.

The effect was immediate. Discord signups spiked, Steam wishlists climbed, and we began seeing streams and videos from creators who first tried the game through Game Pass. That discovery ripple helped fuel the growth of our community and the momentum of the game.
